H m hm hmm. Hello and welcome to the Villa Park Podcast on what is an historic day? And to celebrate I have two legends, the Fowler legend George, how are you doing? My friend? Hello? Boys? Are you doing great? To see a great day to day? And yeah, this should be fun. It will be, mate, it will be And keV partner, how are you doing? Mate? It must be buzzing as well, buzzing. I can't believe it. I can't believe it. I was, I was. I was saying, just like outloud to my kids, like, you know, oh my god, I've never seen Villa ever win at home and there's guy's full on gray heads of hair turning around saying me neither me neither. Yeah, we're going to get into it, but I mean if if we said that we said yesterday, didn't we we said if Emery wanted to cement himself into Villa history, all he needed to do was get a result today. And he's managed to do it somehow by Huckabye Crooks managed to do it well, actually not by Kokobye Crook, but we get into that. But yeah, he's absolutely managed to do it. Positive. Mate, isn't a real positive, real positives from that, because if you look at I was saying to someone after the game, we could lose every game to end of the season now and he could get sucked and it could be a horrendous spell. But it's it's they'll be the guy that broke the man united at home who do no matter what, no matter what, no one can take it away from him. No one can take that away from him. Um. So yeah, let's do we get a trophy for this? Not quite? Not quite? I mean Gabby, Gabby was annoyed with with leads, leads celebrating like they won the Champions League yesterday after coming back from was it three one down or something to win? I don't know what I mean. I imagine he was just sat in his hands today then because I wouldn't if I wouldn't have thought he would be celebrating today, and then would be if he if he wasn't angry at leads. But yeah, I mean you've got to celebrate that, haven't you. Absolutely? Absolutely, so yeah, let's let's get into it. Um. George obviously the starting lineup. Um, we we kind of try to try to predict what we thought, what we thought the starting line that would be obviously came out an hour before kickoff. Was there any surpris rises for you in the in that starting lineup or were you were you kind of you know, fairly you know, was that fairly normal for you in terms of what he went with Martinez, Cash, Kinds and Mings and Dean at the back, Ramsey, Den Dunka, Louise, Gwen Dear, Watkins, and Bailey. Yeah, it was as well, So it wasn't a strange one. It was strange for us really with having Emory in there. He could have looked at it two ways. He could have done an errandanks and thought, you know, they've just been battered last week. I've got nothing to lose. I'm just going to pick what I want to pick and I hope I'll get a new manager bounce. Or he could sort of think, you know, be a bit more sensible here and stick to what, you know, the stick to the players that have been playing with each other most of the season. And I sort of think he kind of because we didn't know, didn't know about the Contino injury until didn't we so obviously that ruled him out. So I guess really that that team kind of did really pick itself absolutely absolutely. I know you weren't too far I think I believe keV. I know you had bed the Wrecking for concert maybe cash out, but I don't know if you...

...were you were too far off it. No, I don't know. I think I thought I thought you want the energy of Ramsey, which obviously we saw today. Um I think I put Contina in rather than Ender, but I think Katina been fit maybe would have played obviously, so that you know. Um so yeah, although I did having into the Watkins, I don't know, maybe it was actually quite far off. I can't remember, but yeah, I just I just think that. Yeah, then Duncan in there, Louise in there, hay Bay it right back though I wasn't you know what I thought he might have medical more change. But I'm hoping he's seen the best of what he's seen in training and he's picked the team based on what he's seen. I hope. Yeah. I mean he has said as well, lads that they are all on trial almost, so we might even see a couple of you know, a couple of obviously, well we're going to see a different line up on on Thursday. Obviously, on one or two players are cup tired. Um, so we will give a the players an opportunity. But even even going into the bright And game, you know, there might be one or two other players that come in just because he's using this as an opportunity to to feel the players out and see who he wants to to move forward with throughout, you know, while this World Cups and then players are in that you know that that sort of mid season training camp. So yeah, Georgia, I guess, I guess we might we might be used to one or two one or two different lineups in the next couple of games. Yeah. Well, we've all been crying out for a manager that can, you know, be flexible and be tactical, and hopefully now we've got one. So you've got to trust what he's going to do. Horses for courses on guessing looking at what he's done at his other clubs. Yeah, and you, yeah, you just trust the man. It say. It will probably be completely different on Thursday, going away from home, especially like where we've been such a sot touch all this season. Away, I'm sure Emory will look at that and we'll probably be a little bit more solid. I'd imagine going into that game than today was a bit more adventurous, wasn't it? Definitely? Definitely, So let's get into it because you were you boys both at the game. Him, Yeah, yeah, yeah, So what what was the atmosphere like, I mean this pre game and then you know, obviously we got off to a phenomenal start, but yeah, what what was that atmosphere like? Was it anticipation? Excitement? How? How was it you go, George? Would you recommend? Yeah? You know what, I'm starting to wonder whether I get the proper match experience sitting where I sit, because I'm always sort of always doesn't matter we were in or lose. I always think it sounds very quiet, the ground sounds very quiet. But I've just watched them Villa on tours video of today and you hear it from the at the other end, then it sounds electric, and I'm thinking that's not the sort. We're at the same game and It's like, that's not how I found it. I think I'm too close to the away fans that you hear more of that. But you know what was it wasn't bad. It was I think there was a lot of even at two nil where we were. I think just the history of this game, you're never safe against United, and I think everyone just felt like we were waiting waiting for the inevitable come back from United. You know, obviously it never come. And towards the end of the game, when when the game was finally sort of safe, you felt everyone just think, yes, you know, we we've done this, we can, we can, let you know, go for it now and have a bit of a body. George, George, I put a little stop watch on my phone for the six minutes right and when they got a corner there must have been only about ninety seconds left, about a minute left, and I thought, shit, if they score here, it will be three too and they'll be right at us. I was still worried with like ninety seconds left. Oh, such a bad thing. And it's a bit of them. We've been tortured though for years, boys, and so it's not off. Absolutely absolutely. Before I get into the goals, we've got some great comments coming in already, so let's let's go through some of them. So Gazo is in the house, come on, and he said told you we'd win three one. I don't think it was. I think it might have been the other way around Gaza. But yeah, well we'll let you off. We'll let you off, mate. Gary's joining us. Can't even believe we won twenty seven bloody long years. Guys will get into that in a bit rage. Sure,...

I'm so glad I was wrong in my prediction. Um, we want the great day and say we want the great day. I could see a foot there. What's going he's lying down the sofas. Let a look at him. There you go, he's lying the star. Yeah, yeah, he's not going mad. He's worn out from the worn out from the match, isn't he That's what he is. Exhausted. Yeah, yeah, Eddie, good to see you. George. There you going mate. You've got your fans in the house already all around. Jam Jackson a new song for I Am Marie. He's taking us to Wembley in the style of Common Eileen by Dex's Midnight Runners original original effort. May we never know, might catch on, might catch on? Um, didn't see any of the gang going, but no WiFi. But so happy with this. We will hopefully be able to talk you through it. Um, so yeah, we'll describe it because we've got two two of the lads who who are at the match watched it live. Definitely can't wait for Match of the day. It is Eddie or um in your family made because he says, you know your stuff and told him today to do this. It's a big he's a big drink, Russ says evening. Guy's biggest pluss for me was scoring straight at the break. Yet we're going to get onto that because yes, some some tactical some tactical now was was really good. Um so yeah, well we'll get onto that. But yes, so talking about that, that the sort of started a game. What a start it was, um but man, you started a little bit on the front foot and then we we kind of won the ball in in the in the center of the pitch and yeah, some great link up with between Ramsey and Bailey and you know he's showing a real sort of assuredness in front of goal keV you know, lovely control of his left foot and didn't really look in doubt when he's put it in the bottom corner. Yeah, I mean it was a great finish. I gotta say, I mean, how often did do we slip a little ball through, you know, into the front man who obviously where Bailey was and then he car composed finished into the corner. I'm really really like struggling with Bailey. I'm either absolutely slating him or I'm like, oh my god, he's got real potential, you know, looking him on the ball is brilliant and I don't know, I feel like he's he's almost like aston Villa persona fire down Bailey, isn't he you know, like you know, you look at Brentford, you look at Newcastle like the night and day and um it was it was just I mean I was singing it as well. I mean it's two home games in a row. Now we've scored four goals in the first you know, two goals in the first ten minutes a bit of Brentford and two against Man United today. It's just then, I don't do that. We don't have fast start. It's if this can be the start of some kind of like home dominance and Billaparte being a fortress. Because it's so hard. I don't care who you are. I don't care if you're playing as Man United obviously some team. If you're two up against anybody, Man City, Chelsea about you're going to struggle to get back into the game to lose it. You can just kill it, can't you? You can kill it. But I mean, just just a little bit on that. We've obviously only got fifteen points this season, but thirteen of them have come at home. Um, whisper it is? Is Philla Park being becoming a little bit more of a dare saying fortress for us? George, Well, you'd like to think so, I mean that's I mean I read the other day Simons, what you said that that's the highest percentage of the team's points, you know, like it showed all the home their way on how many points you add in total, and we had the highest percentage of like either one. So obviously all our points in here uf at home. We've only two drawers away from home. But yeah, you know, I think that's fawn out Phillip Park this year. And I think what you were just saying, the fast start in these games is crucial, isn't it, Because we're not giving, We're not we're not falling behind like we used to all the time, and it being an uphill struggle when the fans against you, and that horrible aps. So...

...you get a villa apart, you get in and out and at these teams early and try and get a lead yourself. You know, Revernut, we're getting a lot more success. So yeah, this is the way forward for me. It is a question I've got for you just quickly. Um, if you think about the link. Now, we were shooting towards the whole end in the first half of both games, do you think you know, you get the fans get on the back straight away. I almost think it helps out because all of a sudden there's booze going around and like, oh my god, you can't believe you've chosen to make a shoot against our favorite end in the first half and it's worked in our favor. I'm wondering whether the villa might start choosing out themselves. Maybe maybe. And also obviously if if you get a couple of good shots, I mean, thankfully we've we've ended up scoring goals in the first in the last two home games. But even if even a couple of good shots where you you know, the keeper saves it or whatever and you start with good intent, gets the crowd on side, doesn't it. Whereas sometimes if you're kicking towards the north north stand almost like the whole tender waiting for waiting for the second half when Villa will really get going. I agree, setting the setting the tempo, isn't it And once you've once you've got it started, it's you know, it's a lot easier once it started them before that, absolutely absolutely so another first, Um, we scored directly from a free kick, lads, I mean I think the last time. I'm pretty sure. I don't think it's aston Villa stature, or if it was, I think it's PGR analytics said. Um, the last time we scored direct from a corner was ben Teck against QPR. This may be at home, I'm not sure, but it's certainly been a long time coming. That would be probably League when it because obviously harr Hand think scored in the Championship. Oh yeah sorry, harro Hand scored against Newcastle. Was that not a direct? Did he not? Was it not? Just was it not set for him just to the side by about a favorite? Oh yes, yes, it was yeah, just extra angle around the wall. Yeah yeah, yea, so well there you go, so Luca Dean, Yeah, what a free kick it was, George that was an absolutely big a beauty mate in it. As I say, we don't see many of those at Villa, so we're gonna appreciate the ones we do. I mean, David, they your world class keeper in the form of his life at the moment, like west Ham last week, he was, you know, absolutely fantastic, but it was getting nowhere near that. You know, it was a great strike and again and hopefully it's a welcome to Villa Luca Dean at last, because he's um, you know, he's been there a while now and he's that's that's a big moment for Luca Dean and hopefully atually give him some confidence. Absolutely absolutely Rachel coming with the comment here that was just about to throw to you, keV. I don't know if you've watched the video, but Martinez played a key role in this set up for this free kick. Now, how good is that. I haven't seen much highlights, but I was there with the kids, you know, long day. I've not really seen even any any of the goals but other than on the screen, but I have seen on Twitter. I saw Martinez like, well, first of all, we were saying, what the hell is he doing there? Get back? Because if if we do what we normally doing, a freak it, which is hit the wall then would all it texts Ronaldo to PingER seventy five yard and you're you know you want you took you want one one within ten minutes. But the glier Martinez his face obviously when he realizes that it works. It's just it's just wonderful. And it reminded me a little bit when I saw it after remember years ago when Steve Sidwell was warming up and the ball went out of play and he threw the ball quickly to ever took the throwing and he scored straight from it. Basically that goal against Everton was a strike, but like literally the boy wanted to play a court in midair like well obviously to the ground and past it literally I think with the Luke Younger store actually young and they just did a throwing straight away and we scored from it. And I was like, that is fantastic teamwork. So yeah, I loved it, loved it. Yeah, and he had he celebration was good as well, So it was yeah, yeah, brilliant, brilliant. So yeah, I mean two nil fifteen minutes...

...gone, absolute dream start, And you know, I think I think even then we're still having chances, still still playing very well. But you know, gradually United did start to get into the game a little bit. We did start to go a little bit sloppy and then you know, deflected goal just before halftime, and I guess you're almost fearing the worst, aren't you, George? Yeah, what certainly was mate. I really did sort of get the hunt when that went in because it was just one of them horrible lucky goals, a bit like when west Ham School at Villa Park a few weeks ago, just the sort of goal that we never score. And you know, as you said, they're right on the right, last kick of the ball with a half gets United tales up and you know you're thinking, here we go again. But yeah, you know that's those I think that sort of took the wind out of ourselves. But you know, whatever ever he said in the in the changing room, after time, we've you know, we've come out a bit better than what we normally do, a bit more. You know, the confidence has come back absolutely, And you know, keV, I guess previously Villa we've we've we've we've been the masters of our and down four then and particularly against Man United, you're thinking here we go again. To one a halftime they're going with a little bit with their tails up. But yes, George said, Emory Emery must have you know, I guess. I guess it's a difficult one, isn't it, because you are still winning and you think, well, we've done great stuff going into that half. So it's almost like saying, keep your heads and just keep doing, keep doing more on the same, isn't it. Yeah, I feel like, look, it's moments, isn't in football, like you know, like any kind of any sport. And we obviously caught them one on a good, good break and Watkins put a good ball across the box and Ramsey's you know that Ramsey's there. Now you know that goal doesn't go in, then there's a chance that, you know, it says to one a bit longer, the momentum in the game is going to shift. My warry was not just that they got the goal back before halftime, lucky as it was, but I was a little bit. I was a bit disappointed with how I felt we were given the ball up a bit easier the second half of the first half, second part of the first off, I felt that we won't retaining possession one or notough, and I know we al said a really good start, but it felt like I was. I was getting a bit frustrated the last twenty minutes to the first half and obviously when the goal went and I thought, here we go. Now it's going to be you know, you can see we've all been a bit of fans over the years. How many times we'll be turned up against them? You remember now sorry but mster Roy scoring and you know the f A Cup game famously like you know, give me so we know what's coming as Villa fans. What what doesn't happen is straight after halftime we then go on the front foot and get a third goal. That just doesn't happen in Auston Villa. And it was brilliant to see there we go and what a goal it was, lads. M picking up the ball in midfield. I think it might have been when Deer who plays the ball out to about out to Watkins. Watkins Martinez probably could have got a tackling on him, but staying stands off him and yeah allows him to get into the box. Beautiful cutback Ramsey, no doubt about the finish. I mean, top corner. I picked that one out keeper. I mean, what a goal. Yeah, it was great. It was lovely, you know, lovely moment there because all that tension we were just talking about. Suddenly you know, we we've restored our two nil to old leads straight away. Um, I think you're seeing the kind of the best of all the Watkins there when he's he's a better support player than he is, you know, a goal scorer in my opinion, as I've said on it lots of times. But yeah, it was a great cross and Ramsey. Ramsey loves that little finished any of that sort of side foot into the top corner, sort of bursting through the middle and it was a great goal and Head thoroughly enjoyed it. All our lads did in the North stand. It was some great scenes and I think everyone suddenly thought this might actually be our they and we're not going to fold like we normally do. It reminded me of the finishing against Leeds, you know that absolutely Continua wasn't differently exactly the same and asked the away as well last year. Yeah. Yeah, he's got a way of side footing it but almost sweeping it up up at the same time, but you know, keeping it just the right...

...height where it just goes in the roof of the net, there's no chance such all three goals was such good finishes today. All three goals, Yeah, fantastic And obviously that was that was pretty much you know, game over gave the gave the players something to kind of hold onto United. We managed to kind of keep them at arms lengthen um again before we get into kind of emery as a as as decisions and little tweaks and stuff which we will we will go into shortly. Just yeah, if we can all of us leave a like on the video, that would be amazing. We are so close to six hundred subscribers. We are five eight five I think, so we've got almost fifty watching. If you're not subscribed yet, please do. We'd love to get to six hundred to day. And what a day to get up to six hundred. But mate, so I just quit one. And we did an interview Wants on Spanish TV after the game, and he said, if you don't subscribe to the podcast, you are I don't want to say the word. It was some Spanish swear words. So you want to you want to keep you I happy, you know, please likely it's not my words, not my worst being built. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but yeah, I mean I've put this picture up here with U and I with a frustrated ten harg um and you pointing to various players and for me, without kind of throwing any shade at previous managers or anything like that, what I was so impressed by in that second half was obviously, we got the goal at forty nine minutes and there's a long time to go in that half. But what was so impressive was different tweaks to the formation, substitutions that came on that kind of shored things up. Players have clear instructions, but also we were still a threat. Certain moments in that half. It was almost like players weren't like you know, sometimes you can throw on the extra defender and it kind of causes a little a chaos for for you as as a team. But everyone seemed to be know exactly what they were doing. We were still well organized, and we were still a threat moving forwards. Kevin, Yeah, absolutely. I mean I think Russ Ross hit the na head earlier with you know, it looked like a standard bottle job, but it felt like a proper manager known how to do something. The half time. I think he's banging on the money because they felt like there was a plan and as much as you know the goal, you could say, you know you're gonna have chances and luckily we luckily we scored. Obviously that was great, but there were so many things going on. I know what you mean. You don't have a throad share at previous managers too much. But just seeing him animated on the sideline, but in in in a measured way, you know, a directive people where to go, telling them when to hold, pushing him in what direction to be in, keeping them going, you know, it felt like I mean, I was crying out for Gerard, who was this passionate manager on the pitch. I've only seeing an interview with him when he said it doesn't feel like, you know, he wants to kind of project that, and I'm thinking, but you want to see that that kind of passion and amazing is it when you see, you know, to see Marino running down the touch line. You know, everyone remembers that famous World Cup goal by was it better go? I mean, I don't remember it was anyone, but the night goal. The Italian guy. When he's doing this in the air, running around, it's imprinting people's brains forever. But you want you want to see the passion on the sidelines, and I think that that resonated with the players sometimes didn't have it, so today they got it. Did I see Den dunka like on almost like playing as a ten at one point? No, I think that was also too. He did with that ten fifteen minutes to go he did a man marking Jo and Ericson. That was that was essentially Ericson had to go deeper and deeper for the ball because he wasn't getting it. But then Donca just followed him around like a like a rash. So yeah, it's those little things. And don't get me wrong, it's not always gonna work. It's not always going to come off. But it was just nice to see like players with clear instruction, but also in game changes. Like Garius mentioned there, it's always been the problem with Villa managed. In game management has...

...been poor, and it's just it's just noticing those little things in the game that you're still a threat. Moving for is you're not just sitting back, but you're just making it so much more difficult for the opposition to get through you. And again Georgia. I don't know if you kind of saw that or or that's hopefully a sign of things to come. Yes, I mean, I guess that's what we're playing this guy five million a year for. You know, he's a manager. You know, we've had it on here before with with Sam and sort of I was always sort of the opinion that the players must know. The players have been playing football for a long time, you know, they must have a good idea. But the manager it is crucial, isn't it. You know, a change a manager like this, and you can suddenly the guy has been in the door three days and we're playing football like that. You know that was nowhere to be seen under Stephen Gerrard or probably even before that, you know. So yeah, it's fantastic, and let's just hope you can can continue as long as, you know, as long as we needed to. Yeah, absolutely, I guess. I guess. Conversely, though, I mean we've you know, United have been very impressed with ten harg on what he's done and how well he's coached Man United. But you know, they he was almost like a lost soul on the sideline. So it's like when you get you know, even even the best coaches in the world sort of thing once was they know a game's gone or or you know they're kind of getting out maneuvered. They're almost just wait, trying to wait for one of those famous magic moments to try and get themselves back in the game. Is isn't it? Really don't talk about magic moments, but but what I mean is it's like, you know, he knew it was three one down, He's waiting for a player to to produce something to get there, to get them back in the game, to get the momentum because whatever he was throwing at at it just wasn't working. Yeah. Yeah, Do you know what I also loved about it as well, was I was saying before the game to my way I was sat with, I said, you know, this Man United team are gettable out they'll get I know, how many times have you played Man Unite over the years when they've been a top class team. Many? But how many times that we also played them when they've been beatable and we still haven't managed to do it in so many situations And it's just a lot before I think where Macada like came on score that. That's what I said, But that was still a good Man United team, like elite Premier League winning Manunited team. I'm talking in the last probably a few years when we played them, we still you know, they've been there for the taking still, I found, you know, been getting beaten by the teams and we've still been whipping boys at home. So it's just nice to us for us to do it. Absolutely absolutely, Um, a few stats just around it up as well and we'll get you a Man of the matches dropping the comments. So you think your manner match was for today? Um? Obviously yeah in terms of in terms of match stats, obviously won three one Bailey, Luca Dean, Jacob Ramsey scoring. It's gone down to Jacob Ramsey own goal actually for yes, a little bit harsh. Five shots on goal, five shots on target for US only two on target for Man United. Seven total shots for US, four total for Man United. Slightly higher possession for United than Villa. Three yellow cards apiece, five corners for United versus three for Villa, more fouls for United. I was surprised that Martinez didn't get a yellow card. Um, and then to safe so you know, fairly fairly you know, controlled performance from us and we definitely carried the more threat even though we had slightly less possession, lads, wasn't it wasn't that impressive Man United today really? Yeah, you know you're saying a lot better and performances from them at Villa Park over the years, but yeah today they Honestly, I think I think they're a better team without Ronaldo and I think he hinders them. I know, I know he's the greatest player it's ever been, but yeah, it just they just they don't they don't function as well as a side. I'd rather have Rush for upfront and Ronaldo on the bench if I was coming out from and perspective, Yeah, yeah, little words for Tyra mings keV obviously...

...kept kept Ranaldo very very quiet. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, And I thought defense were all great actually, um yeah, and other tis on your point about the possession and the times we had great possessions that this season and done absolutely nothing with it. But you know, just slow, insipid passage side to side at the back. I mean, I was really impressed with actually how we we kept it at the back on our terms to then break quite quickly the amount of times we did it. We waited because a couple of looks quite risky things, but this is the hallmark memory teams. And then Martinez was clearly instructed to do a little diagonal over to leave the fallbacks and we're away, and it happened quite a few times when we got attacks on that on that basis, So yeah, I am. I was impressed with it with everyone today, really every everyone. But I've got a clear mann much personally. Yeah, and we seem to have Obviously it's our first victory at home against United since the famous you'll never win anything with kids quote. But we've last three Premier League games. We're actually on beaten. So we've got we've got, you know, we've we've we've broken. Dare I say a little who do against? Maybe it's our turn now to wait into the Cup game, as all this week went into the Cup game, that would be another one. Yeah, well Gary, Gary asked in one of the comments, do you do we think we can beat them in the Cup on Thursday. They've got obviously they've got a few few challenges at the momouent, and obviously haven't got the full squad whatever, But um, yeah they're gonna I mean, are they going to play a full strength in the in the League Cup. I don't know. Maybe they will may want to respond shure They've got reasonably well in the Europa League, right, so maybe they concentrate more on that. I don't know how many fronts you can really go on. Although it was a fairly big breaking, is a break? Yeah yeah, it put a strong side out. But I think a of United podcasters fans have been saying, you know, they struggle with depth to their squad, and you know, there's there's they have got one or two really good players, but once you get below that surface, maybe their squad is is a little bit is a little bit of threadbare. Yeah yeah, no reason why we can't go there, and that would be we thought you and I had put any stampoint it by winning this game that we never win. Imagine we beat Man United in a cup game. Imagine that on the cover of Time magazine. Yeah yeah, yeah, Man of the Match. So the Villa Villa tweeted out four nominees Luca Deane and Jacob ran to Leon Bailey, Ali Watkins. But I think there was there's there's probably one or two others that could could have stuck a claim. So before I get your boys man of the match. Loads of comments coming in. Jack says Ramsey was his man of the match. Deante says, una, I am Marie for sure. U. John Steele joining us Man of the matches Ramsey closely followed by Mings. Shouldn't should never have been carded. Um Gaza says Ramsey's the first Villa player to score, assist and score an o G in a Premier League game. Very very interesting stat there, Rachel Ramsey for me. But Bailey and Mings were very good. Tom Ryan joining us, Mings man of the match. Eddie says Bailey worked hard. Um and Mark says Mings was brilliant but was his and was his man of the match. Ramsey looked back to his best and I thought Watkins was great. He was so poor last week but showed what he could do for the team today. Just to point on Watkins, I think also the fact that we've got players around him Um was a big thing. You know. Obviously Ings was up top on his own against Newcastle. This is what we have to do away from home. We've got to get players. We've got to squeeze the thirds so we're not so stretched and we've got to get players in and around the front men. We know they're not amazing at holding the ball, so if we can get...

...them so they can play passes within one and two touches, that's what's going to help us get get bit beyond teams. Yeah, absolutely absolutely. I mean there was clearly so many situations today where when we had the ball we had we had players linked up around them. And it makes a massive difference as opposed to being an life selecting ball over the top, one person on it, Watkins then not being able to take on three players, and not many people can take on three players. But but I do feel that he was a bit more up for it today. I do feel like he was you know, he had a bit of a point to prove. Maybe he was fitting, like he didn't show go us okay anything at all in that telfought. It was very very poor new Castle. So it was yeah, it was good. It was good to see. And that's the thing, George, that's what we're crying out for, that little bit of consistency. You know, Bailey's played well the last two home games, Watkins has looked good the last two home games. That it's just stringing three or four big performances together from our main players, isn't it. Yeah, of course it is. I mean it's a bit jeckl and hide at the moment. I mean we've I think we've lost two nil free nil, four nil one four nil and beat Man United free one. You know that sort of tells you, you know, you don't know what you're gonna get from Villa resor at the moment. You know, hopefully it's starting to come together now. And yeah, I mean I think I think Watkins is probably blown his chance of making the World Cup, unfortunately when he wasn't started in a strong position. But you know he's got to just keep his head down and keep going because you know there's still a lot for Villa to play for this season. You know, the season isn't dead yet, and you know, and hopefully we can never much stronger spell after the World Cup. Yeah, I've heard them the remaking the film Forrest Gump, and they're the famous quotes going to be life is like an aston been the Premier League season three. You never know what you're gonna get. Because it was a long way around to that joke, and was thinking about that one give about twelve second, don't forget we lost to Bournemouth, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, performance, you know we are we still below them in the league though I think probably we are. Yeah, I think I think they now all right, Okay, that's what the first thing. We're in thirteen, so that's good, that's good. Gazer asked how how are the subs? Did they change anything? I think from my point of view with the subs, I thought I thought they were they were kind of really well done tactically without and they just they just settled the game without being spectacular. Yah. And I was mind the impressed with Samson when he came on, a nice cameo, a nice couple of touches. So happy as I saw him getting off the bench, I was the first players to the stand up and cheer him, like, yeah, absolutely, because he's a fucking good player. That's what. It's almost like a new like a new sign. Yeah, yeah, I think about that. Rich, So yeah, who was Obviously we've had quite a few votes for Ming's Ramsey. Um, yeah, Ming's Ramsey and Bailey's worked very hard. So yeah, George, who was your man in the match today? Yes, as you said, there was, you could have probably picked one out of about five. But yeah, it was Ramsey for me. There's a lot of the comments said, I just really enjoyed him today, enjoyed the energy, the pace he just he's passed and everything was quite christ today. There was no giving on the ball, he just got about, the pitch made. He didn't really put a foot wrong. Did He finished up with a great goal. You know they're saying that was an own goal, won an own goal for me. He just got in the way and it was a bad reflection, wasn't it. But yeah, everything was one of two to d with him, which was so good. Unless he was running with the ball, everything was like quick. Yeah. It reminded me a bit of like lying guard in his prime, you know, just everything was one to buzzing about like it reminded me a lot of that. That's what you need from that, that kind of busy midfield pledge, always looking to get on the ball, always look can to do things quickly.

Yeah, really really good, really good. And what about you, keV Um? I think there's been some great shots around there, but and that you could argue for all of them. My man and match was double suis. I thought he was at the heartbeat of everything today. Everything he's he's passing was unbelievable. I thought he picked it over. I thought he was, he was tenacious. I thought I just thought he was literally I thought he ran the game basically from where he was, you know, everything kind of came through, So I was I was really really impressed in him today. Excellent. I know a few people online we're talking then Dunker up as well, saying that he was he was really solid and it was good. It's good to have that physicality in that midfield, isn't it. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, and Kamara is coming back fit now as well, so yeah, brilliant, brilliant Before we finished up boys another success and Rachel is also I started this this comment, but Villa's first team women's team under twenty ones, under eighteens and under sixteens all one this weekend, so fantastic we can all around and yeah, given the women's team a shout out one nil victory away from home against Liverpool. Um and Rachel Daily with the penalty and another goal again keV Yeah she's um. She second top scoring the league now behind the kid. Sure she's got five now. I think I think she must now have more goal involvements than any other asked them, than a player ever and fantastic in it. Yeah, I mean I mean as in women's player and she's any places played six games. So yeah, it's brilliant for it's brilliant for that, great obviously for the for the younger groups as well. Do you know what's funny as well? This morning? Um my lad's team have been getting a few beatings lately and they played they played Solio Mors today and they won seven to right and he scored six Wow. Wow, he scored a hat trick in about two minutes from the kickoff and I was like, oh my god, he was absolutely off thought imagine that the day started so well, He's like nine thirty kickoff, We're not going to beat Man United later on, surely not. And then the women win as well, and it's just like if Carlsberg made weekends of football, this would be it. Yeah. Yeah, George the back. I think they're back in the top six now after a couple of dodgy results. Um but yeah, just just great to see the women's team doing so well, you know, up there towards the top of the Women's Premier League. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I mean I don't know great thing about it, but I know they've heavily invested in it this year, the the owners have, so the new managers at carl Award this year. Yeah, yeah, you know, but hopefully turned turned it around now and can can get themselves up that table. In fair play to them, absolutely absolutely, Lads, anything anything else from today's game that you wanted to shout out or we we we we fully fully satisfied with with the with today's proceedings, I just wanted to mention just you've probably touched on it. There were like the Kamara and obviously sant Sano I was obviously buzzying to see as I said, but we actually basically if we if we took our whole midfield out today, Louise den Donka obviously in Gwen Dear, you could easily put in Continuo McGinn. You can put sand sign and you can put Kamara in. We've got Carlos to come back in as well. Obviously he's gonna be good signing. So I mean, from a depth perspective, I just thought that was really noticeable today obviously we're lacking in white areas, but yeah, I just thought it was really good to think about. We changed on quite a lot of the midfield and didn't it didn't affect anything at all, did it? When mcgin? When mcgin came on? You know, I just thought it was it was really good. Yeah. Absolutely absolutely rich that um that Jacob Ramsey goal today, I think that I think that changes our season. I really do. I think I said it. I said it on the chat as it went in, just after it went in. If we don't score that and we end up folding today and it all goes down the pan, we've got a new manager, the morales on the ground the game. I just think the fact that we've conceded a goal, come out after the break, scored another one to win the game. I think now that that could really change everything and get the players really believing in themselves and the project going forward. That is a great way to finish the pod positive end. What a day seven years making. As always, thank you everyone for tuning in and remember it we all follow the Villa, not everyone. M m m seen seen.
